Home Remedies and Natural Treatment to Heal Damaged Cuticles

You can treat cracked cuticles by applying these home remedies:
  • Rub off the damaged cuticles with the use of natural acids such as salicylic acid, lemon, and vinegar. The use of these natural acids will naturally peel off dead and damaged cuticles. Avoid ripping your cuticles because you run the risk of ripping off healthy cuticles and you can also rip the whole cuticle off making you prone from bacterial or fungal attack through the gap between your nail and your skin.
  • You can also slice a few lemons and collect the juice in a bowl, add equal parts of vinegar and water, and then dip your fingers in the bowl for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Rinse your fingers and rub them with sugar to exfoliate the dead cuticles.
  • Mix a teaspoon of honey with two teaspoon of lemon juice and water. Dip your fingers in the mixture for 5 to 10 minutes, dry them, and push the cuticles inward with a cuticle stick.
  • Add warm water with a teaspoon of olive oil and soak your fingers in the mixture from 5 to 10 minutes. You can also coat your fingers with thick olive oil and enclose them in hand gloves overnight to seal in moisture. If you don’t like the greasy feel of olive oil, you can use cold cream instead.
  • Apply a thick layer of milk on your cuticles to moisturize them.
